SCV Boycott of New Orleans, LA
A letter sent out to SCV members from Johnnie Holley. Note the underlined sections.
As you all know, the problem in New Orleans has all of our attention. Our National headquarters is being overwhelmed by phone calls about this. Director Landree and the staff are very busy at this time with the new membership system and the start of construction on our Museum. I would ask all of you to not call headquarters about the New Orleans problem. The GEC is working very hard on this and other issues and we will keep you informed as events play out. If you have questions or comments, please call your Division officers. If they cannot help, they will contact me and I will try to help as much as I can. The situation is fluid and changing. I want to assure you that our Commander is fully involved and all of the GEC and the Louisiana Division are looking at every aspect of this issue and investigating many avenues.
We need your support and will let you know what you can do to help fight these types of problems.
His letter aside, I agree with Thos. Strain – BOYCOTT the hell out of New Orleans. Go to any and every other Mardis Gras celebration, tour old sites of interest in other cities, and spend your money elsewhere. The only thing they understand more than Political Correctness is Money. Hit them where it hurts.NOLA BOYCOTT
