South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley Supports Removal of Confederate Flag
In 2015, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) announced she supports removing the Confederate flag from the state capitol grounds. It came down amidst the race baiting and finger pointing supposedly resulting from the actions of one individual who took upon himself to kill nine African Americans after posing with a Confederate Naval Flag.
In July of this year, the Confederate Battle Flag had another hurrah at the State House in a Secessionist rally. Naturally, the race baiters showed up to insist that it represented slavery and has nothing to do with heritage, only oppression. I’m still waiting for people to explain how it is that 400,000 non slave owning, poor, lower classed white man went to war after being invaded, to protect the rights of 4% Southern wealthy class to keep slaves…
It all comes back to recognition of what the flag is, and what it stands for. Listen to what Louise Farrakhan says: “The confederate Flag is a symbol of the Old South. That’s history. American History. That’s a part of the history of this nation.” While I cannot agree with everything that the minister says, I must concede the good points that he makes.
